4-month update

Things were going so well before last week’s doctor’s appointment, at which I was told my fracture isn’t healing as well as they’d hoped. All I can do now is “take it easy” and hope that the bone heals, otherwise I can be looking at another surgery. Before my appointment my leg felt so good, and I was making amazing progress in strength at physical therapy.

Unfortunately, it’s no longer a question of how soon until I am able to walk, it’s will I be able to walk without more surgery. Definitely depressing.

Your courage and perseverance over these past 4 months has been an inspiration to me beyond what you can imagine. I’ll be praying that your leg continues to heal, and (God willing) I hope that you’ll make it to OCS again. You have one hundred percent of the spirit and commitment needed for OCS even if your body is being a dilettante!

I’ve to mirror that sentiment. You’ve been inspiring. I dread the thought of something like this happening to me during the fall. If it does happens, I hope I can keep my spirits up like you’ve done with yourself. Get well.

Hang in there brother. If anybody can make it back, you can. I wasn’t in your platoon, but I wish I had been. Keep your head up.
