It’s hard to believe it has been 8 months since I broke my hip. Rehab is going well, though not as fast as I had hoped. I go to the gym 4-5 days a week, but mostly do weight training. Due to a couple bad back-to-back experiences, I’ve been staying away from cardio as of late, but will hopefully get back into it soon. As expected even lower body weight training has been giving me some problems. Despite everything, it feels awesome to be back at the gym and getting back into shape.
My heel lift has been working pretty well. I don’t have that bad of a limp when I’m wearing it, and the leg doesn’t fatigue as fast when I’m walking around. I’m down to a cane as you can see in some of the recent pictures. I haven’t used a crutch for almost a month. I am making slow progress and will hopefully be walking unassisted in a month or so. I hope so at least, Seniors is less than 7 months away.

Have you considered kettlebell training? It’s highly effective in strengthening even after injuries, and it dramatically improved my run time and strength. Find an instructor and get a class first, so he can help you address your specific needs. I’m all for kettlebells… I think they are amazing!
We’ll have to meet up sometime this summer. I’ll buy you a beer, because if anyone I know at OCS deserves one, it’s you.
No, I haven’t. Thank you for the advice, I’ll definitely check it out. And I’m gonna hold you to that beer!
