13 month update

Training was going well until last Tuesday when I took a class at my gym that was a little too rough on my leg. I thought I would just take a couple days to rest, but those two days turned into almost a week and I haven’t been back out running yet. The good news is before last Tuesday I was running 2 days/week, and had gotten my run time down to 8:37 minute/mile. Hopefully I’ll be able to run this week and start adding a little more distance.

  1. Sounds good. Keep going, keep your head up, and grit those teeth. It’s worth it.

    Hey Michael,

I stumbled on your blog last summer when I had a friend at OCS. I am currently in med school (and interested in ortho….). As luck would have, I now have a femoral neck stress fracture from running too much and went back and reread some of your posts. I can’t believe you kept training on yours until it completed – I could barely walk and was miserable just seeing patients, let alone running!!!

It sounds like you are doing really well (and you have been really lucky to have such a great recovery!) even if it has been a long year. Best of luck with everything. I am rooting for you for this summer!
