Things haven’t been going as well as I’d hoped. A week after I started jogging again, I got some pretty bad pain in my hip, more specifically my hip flexor. It feels like the same pain I had when I tried running for the first time back in March. At first the pain only happened right after a jog. After a few days of gritting my teeth, the leg began hurting all the time, even on my off days. As of now, I can’t walk right and I’m in pain almost all the time.
I think I’m finally realizing that having a job that requires being in excellent physical condition might not be in my future anymore.
I see an Army doc at Hanscom Air Force Base in a week. Hopefully I’ll know more then.

Whatever the outcome, you are and will always be a Marine. Your spirit of never giving up is what “Esprit de corps” is all about! I will keep you in my prayers.

[…] Supporting our own! One of our own could use a little cheering up. Michael, at OPENBAH, broke his hip while training at OCS. He was finally told he could safely start on a training program to rebuild his muscle tone and work towards returning to OCS. His injury was repaired and he went through all his therapy. Apparently things aren’t going as well as he had hoped from what he says in his post, Training not going so well. It would be nice if people would drop by with a few words of encouragement and support! Pay Him a visit at the link. […]
I’m really sorry to hear about your hip and the issues that continue. Please know that there are many Marine Mom’s, like myself, who are pulling for you every day. It is the toughest job you’ll ever have, and it’s tough for mom’s too! ;-) Hang in there. Keep the faith in yourself and know that we are all pulling for ya. My Marine has ongoing health issues too, so I can understand the frustration you are dealing with. This too shall pass.
