Just heard back from the Hospital for Special Surgery regarding my upcoming total hip replacement. They received the authorization fax from Tricare this morning. I’m still waiting on my copy of the authorization, but it looks like things are all set for January 5th. Only 75 days away!

Been doing some research into hip surgeries and found a site that has some good explanations and pictures of various hip surgeries. Post-op X-rays
Here are a couple X-rays that were taken immediately following my surgery. You can see the drain tube I was talking about in this X-ray. A screw was also inserted to make sure the fibula graft stays put until it bonds with the hip.
